ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Jasmine! I'm an aspiring graphic designer and website designer based in Waterloo, Ontario. I'm passionate about using design to communicate with audiences around the world. As a designer, I love to integrate both English and Japanese language into my work. I've been learning Japanese for about 3 years, and I hope to develop my language proficiency to a native level, bridging communities from the East to the West.

My design journey began in 2023, when I took my first ever technology and design course, where I was mentored in a self-directed project creating my own make-up line, CHARM Cosmetics. Over the course of 8 months, I was exposed to many different programs and machines like Adobe Creative Cloud, laser cutters, large format printers, and so much more.

As a creative, I love that design is not constrained to fine arts. Growing up I've always loved to create but my drawings never turned out quite right (which is why I don't do illustration haha). However, through design, I've been able to create things with shapes, organize appealing layouts, and learn what makes people get that giddy feeling when something just looks pleasing to look at. Through design I've found a way to express my artistic side in non-traditional ways, and I hope that my creations in some way, shape or form resonate with you as well!
